The Fresh Voices Pitch Contest affords aspiring writers the opportunity to turn great ideas into salable screenplays through experienced script guidance, professional mentoring and over $5,000 in cash and prizes.

Submit your one-three (1-3) page idea for a feature film or television show and you could get paid to turn your pitch into a salable screenplay. The Grand Prize Winner will work with an established manager/producer who'll offer professional guidance throughout the development process including feedback, story notes and career consultation.
The finished screenplay/ teleplay will then be shopped to Hollywood agents, managers, development executives and producers at major production companies and networks. Most importantly, you retain all rights, credit and ownership in the idea and the finished script.

Every submission will receive their judge's scorecard. The judge's scorecards will be a valuable aid in helping you determine if your idea is worth investing the next year of your life to write. Four questions you may be asking by now!
Question 1.) What is a pitch? Your pitch can be a synopsis, treatment, short story, outline, beat-sheet or concept summary. Your pitch can be for a feature film or TV show, 1/2 hour or hour long episodic. It doesn't matter how the story's told, just make it engaging, exciting and fun to read.
Question 2.) Can I submit a pitch based on a screenplay or teleplay I already wrote? As long as you are open to notes and possible revisions then yes.
Question 3.) If you are paying me to write do you take any ownership in the finished script and is my payment contingent on writing the script? No. You retain all the rights and you are under no obligation to write the script if you decide not to. You can walk away with your idea and the prize money at anytime.
Question 4.) How can I protect my original idea? You can copyright treatments, synopsis and outlines with the WGAw Registry the same way you would a script. An often overlooked step in proving the date and genesis of your original idea. Over and above, we'll take great care not to share your idea with anyone outside of our small development team.
